Breakwater Health Network is a 501(c)(3) Health Center Controlled Network seeking an experienced clinical application specialist to support our four member health centers with deployment and ongoing support of a new electronic health record software and related clinical IT infrastructure. This role works to improve the quality of patient care by driving the efficient utilization of healthcare IT solutions. The ideal candidate will possess independent leadership qualities and attention to detail, working in multidisciplinary small group settings with our member health centers to implement shared workflows and best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead a clinical application work group for member health centers.
- Review and optimize existing clinical workflows to align with federal and state clinical quality standards.
- Implement new workflows that take advantage of new technology\functionality to improve efficiency.
- Create and manage documentation for shared workflows.
- Standardize clinical data collection to improve quality reporting accuracy.
- Implement strategies to increase patient engagement through the use of clinical outreach tools.
- Work in partnership with the project manager and member health centers to deploy electronic health records software and other future tools.
- Provide escalation support for the clinical application managers at member health centers.
- Collaborate with the clinical application vendors as needed to support member health centers.
- Stay current with education and training on the latest healthcare IT tools to provide guidance and recommendations to member health centers.
Qualifications
- Experience with the Epic electronic health record software, or other similar well-known electronic health record software.
- Clinical workflow analysis and improvement, with attention to the impact on quality and data collection.
- Experience leading projects or small teams.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in a clinical setting.
- The ability to communicate effectively with cross disciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a healthcare or HIT related field preferred but not required.
- Ability to independently manage job responsibilities.
- Experience problem solving complex issues.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
