Southside Community Health Services (SCHS) is seeking a Perinatal Behavioral Health Therapist to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health care to pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families. This role supports whole-person, integrated care through close collaboration with medical, OB/GYN, pediatric, and behavioral health teams.

About the Role

The Perinatal Behavioral Health Therapist delivers assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and psychosocial stressors. This position focuses on early intervention, emotional support, and strengthening parent–infant attachment to promote maternal, infant, and family well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy to perinatal patients from pregnancy through at least 12 months postpartum
Conduct biopsychosocial, risk, and diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
Address PMADs, trauma, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, and parenting-related concerns
Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed
Support parent–infant bonding and attachment
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver integrated treatment
Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and comply with mandated reporting requirements
Participate in clinical consultation, staff meetings, and department activities

Qualifications

Licensed or license-eligible (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, LADC preferred)
Training and experience in trauma-informed care and perinatal mental health (certification preferred)
Experience conducting diagnostic assessments and treatment planning
Community health or public health experience preferred
Proficiency with EPIC and standard clinical software
